TUCSON, Ariz. – Success in the classroom has always been a foundational part of Arizona Athletics and the latest Graduation Success Rate (GSR) data released by the NCAA only reaffirms that commitment. Arizona's GSR score of 90 percent is a new record for the department, topping the previous high of 89 percent set in 2023.
 
"The success of our student-athletes in the classroom has always been an important part of Arizona Athletics," Arizona Vice President and Director of Athletics Desiree Reed-Francois said. "Our goal is to support and encourage our student-athletes to become leaders in all that they do, and earning a degree from the University of Arizona is a big part of that. The continued growth of our Graduation Success Rate is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, coaches and C.A.T.S. Academics staff, and we thank them for all they do for the student-athletes, the university and the department."

The 2024 GSR report reflects the student-athlete graduation success of a four-year cohort of student-athletes who were admitted to the University of Arizona from 2014 to 2017.

The athletic department's new record of 90 percent continues the dramatic rise for Arizona Athletics, as the department's GSR scores increased by 15 percent over the last 10 years.
 
Arizona has also tied or broken its all-time high seven times in the last eight years.
 
A total of seven of Arizona's programs scored 100 percent in this year's report, including Women's Basketball, Men's Golf, Gymnastics, Softball, Women's Tennis, Men's Track & Field and Beach Volleyball.

Another testament to the academic excellence within Arizona Athletics can be found in the Spring 2024 cumulative GPA among student-athletes, posted a all-time record high cumulative GPA of 3.336. It also marked the 13th consecutive semester above a 3.0 GPA for Arizona student-athletes.
