Arizona Squares Off with No. 5 TCU on Wednesday

FRISCO, Texas. — The Arizona Wildcats (4-3) and No. 5 ranked TCU Horned Frogs (8-0) square off in midweek action this Wednesday, Feb. 28 at Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth. First pitch is slated for 5:00 p.m. MST with a broadcast available to subscribers on ESPN+.

Wednesday night's matchup against TCU is the first of four ranked opponents that Arizona will face this week in Texas. 

The Wildcats are in the middle of a three-week, 11-game road swing that will stretch into the first weekend of March. The last time Arizona took the field, they salvaged their series at San Diego with a 10-9 victory in the Sunday finale.

  • The Arizona Wildcats continue their extended road trip with a midweek game against the No. 5 ranked TCU Horned Frogs on Wednesday night. The game will be broadcast via Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with Chuck LaMendola and Connor Wanhanen on the call.
  • Arizona holds a 7-3 edge in the all-time series against TCU. However, the Horned Frogs topped the Wildcats, 12-4, in their most recent meeting at the 2023 NCAA Fayeteville Regional.
  • Each of the previous two meetings between these two programs came in NCAA Regionals (2023 Fayeteville, 2010 Fort Worth). The most recent regular season meeting was in 2004 at the Round Rock College Classic, a game which Arizona won 5-2.
  • The Wildcats have won nine consecutive games played in the state of Texas, dating all the way back to 2019. Their last loss in the Lonestar State came to Houston on Feb. 23, 2019. Seven of those nine games have come in early season tournaments hosted in Texas.
  • Outfielder Brendan Summerhill collected six hits last Tuesday against Utah Tech, marking the first six-hit game by a Wildcat in 20 years and tying the program single-game record.
  • Brendan Summerhill has driven in 15 RBI this season, tied for the most in the Pac-12 Conference and tied for sixth nationally.
  • Sophomore infielder Mason White and senior right-handed pitcher Dawson Netz were selected to the Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference team, the first such honor for both players.
