TUCSON, Ariz. — Infielder
Mason White and outfielder
Brendan Summerhill were both honored with spots on the Preseason All-Big 12 team, while the Wildcats were selected by the league's coaches to finish second in the Big 12 Baseball Preseason Poll, the conference announced this afternoon.
Arizona's placement in the Preseason Poll is their highest selection since the 2021 Wildcats were picked to finish second in the 2021 Pac-12 Preseason Coaches Poll; Arizona finished that season with their 18th trip to the College World Series.
White's selection to the Preseason All-Big 12 team is the second such honor of his career after landing on the 2023 Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference team. For Summerhill it is the first Preseason All-Conference selection of his career.
White, a Tucson native, has been a regular member of the Wildcats lineup for two seasons and is a career .309 hitter with 105 runs scored, 29 home runs, and 100 RBI. Following a breakout sophomore season in 2024 in which he hit .305 with 55 runs, 31 extra-base hits, and 65 RBI, White was named to the Pac-12 All-Conference squad and pulled in ABCA West All-Region First Team honors.
Summerhill, a junior from Chicago, earned a regular role with the Wildcats last season as a sophomore and led the team with a .324 batting average. His walk-off two-run double against Oregon State on May 18 secured the Wildcats sixth and final Pac-12 Conference regular season title. Summerhill also tallied 50 runs, a team-leading 32 extra-base hits, and 59 RBI en route to earning Pac-12 All-Conference honors.
