IRVING, Tx. - Lauryn Swann claimed her second Big 12 women's basketball weekly honor—and the first of 2025—the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Swann delivered a standout performance on New Year's Eve, scoring a career-high 22 points in a loss to Utah. She knocked down a career-best five three-pointers, with 19 of her points coming in the second half, marking her first 20+ point game.
The freshman guard followed that performance with her first career start against UCF, helping the Wildcats secure a 75-53 victory. Swann contributed six points, a career-high three steals, and two assists in the win.
Over the two-game stretch, Swann shot 58% from the field (10-of-17) and 67% from beyond the arc (8-of-12). The Queens, N.Y., native is currently the only Wildcat to receive a weekly conference honor this season and one of just two freshmen in the Big 12 to earn the recognition more than once.
