Arizona Soccer Adds Four Talented Signees for 2025 Class

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona soccer head coach Becca Moros announced the addition of four standout student-athletes Alexa Khan, Ashley May, Amanda Maynard, and Emerson Stoft — who have each signed National Letters of Intent to join the Wildcats beginning in the 2026 season.

The newest Wildcats bring championship experience, versatility, and competitive drive to a program continuing to build momentum in the Big 12 era.

Alexa Khan | Defender | Southlake, Texas | Carroll High School / Solar Soccer Club
A proven leader on the back line, Alexa Khan joins Arizona from Carroll High School in Texas, where she anchored one of the state's most successful programs. Khan helped guide her team to three district championships, reaching the state quarterfinals in 2023, the state semifinals in 2024, and the area finals in 2025.

Over her prep career, she has started 42 matches, tallied four goals and 13 assists while leading a defense that consistently ranked among the best in the region. A three-time All-State selection — earning Second Team honors in 2022 and First Team honors in 2023 and 2024 — Khan brings both technical quality and competitive consistency to the Arizona back line.

"It was the best fit for me, and I really could see myself improving and enjoying my time there," Khan said.

"Lexi is a tough defender, great student, and a fun person. I'm confident she will fit into our soccer family and help us reach our goals as a program," said Moros.

Ashley May | Midfielder | San Marcos, Calif. | San Marcos High School / San Diego Surf

May joins the Wildcats after a standout career with San Diego Surf, one of the nation's premier ECNL clubs. She helped lead Surf to two ECNL Playoffs semifinal appearances and an ECNL quarterfinal run, competing consistently against the top talent in the country. At San Marcos High School, she guided her team to a San Diego Section CIF Championship and a High School State Playoff Semifinal appearance.

A versatile and creative midfielder, May recorded 25 goals and 16 assists in her high school career. She has twice been invited to U.S. Youth National Team Talent ID Centers and is recognized as one of the top players in the country, earning distinction as an IMG Top 150 Player and Palomar All-Conference / All-League selection.

"I chose to attend the University of Arizona because I have a strong family legacy at the university, and it offers an excellent academic program that aligns with my career goals," May said. "I love the coaching style and the team's style of play, and I believe Arizona is the perfect place for me to continue growing as both a player and a person. I'm excited to represent my family and the university with pride."

"Ashley is a goalscorer, a finisher. She plays a great possession style, intelligent and controlled, and she scores a lot of goals," said Moros.

"What more can you ask for!"

Amanda Maynard | Center Back | Scottsdale, Ariz. | Desert Mountain High School / Phoenix Rising ECNL

A hometown standout, Amanda Maynard joins the Wildcats after a decorated career with Desert Mountain High School and Phoenix Rising ECNL. Maynard helped lead Rising to the ECNL Champions League Playoffs three consecutive seasons (2020–21, 2021–22, 2023–24), advancing to the Round of 16 last year.

She was named to the U15 Southwest ECNL All-Conference First Team, earned 2024 5A Conference All-Region First Team honors, and was recognized as Desert Mountain's Team MVP. A U.S. Youth National Team ID Center invitee, Maynard has developed a reputation as a composed and physical defender who organizes the back line with confidence.

"I chose to continue my academic and athletic career at Arizona because the players, coaches, and staff were all so welcoming and made it feel like home right away," Maynard said. "The program's culture is competitive and supportive, and I know it's a place where I can grow both on and off the field."

"Amanda is passionate, hard-working and a leader from the center back position," said Moros.

"She is competitive on the field and in the classroom and a person of strong character. She's an obvious fit for Arizona Soccer."

Emerson Stoft | Midfielder | Chandler, Ariz. | Basha High School / Utah Royals AZ

Emerson Stoft joins the Wildcats as one of Arizona's most prolific attacking talents. The 5-foot-5 midfielder has been a stanchdout for Basha High School and Seton Catholic Preparatory, while competing at the club level with the Utah Royals AZ.

Stoft led her high school program to a state runner-up finish in 2024–25, scoring 55 goals and 15 assists across just three seasons. She was named All-Region Player of the Year and Offensive Conference Player of the Year during her junior campaign and has been invited to three U.S. Youth National Team ID camps.

"I chose U of A because it's my hometown, and I want to represent!" Stoft said.

"Emmy is a crafty and powerful midfielder with a heck of shot," said Moros.

"Her intelligence and skill will be exciting for our fans to watch."

Moros on the Class
"This class is special. They come from great environments and are great people. They're hard-workers, passionate about the game of soccer, and hold themselves to high standards in the classroom, all things we consider non-negotiable for our program. I know our fans will be excited when they get to see them play, and we coaches can't wait to get started coaching them."
