Wildcats Prepare for Pair of Weekend Meets

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. / SEATTLE, Wash. – Arizona Track & Field will compete in the Tyson Invitational and the Husky Classic on Friday and Saturday. 
 
The Tyson Invitational will be hosted by Arkansas at the Randal Tyson Track Center. On Friday, field events begin at 12:15 p.m. MST and running events begin at 12:00 p.m. MST. On Saturday, field events start at 9:30 a.m. MST and running events start at 9:45 a.m. MST. The competition will be streamed on the SEC Network+ ($) here. The Husky Classic will be hosted by Washington at the Dempsey Indoor Facility. Only three distance runners will compete at the meet for the Wildcats and all three will only compete on Saturday. On Saturday, running events start at 11:00 a.m. MST. Live results can be found here. The competition will also be streamed on RunnerSpace+ ($) here.
 
"The Tyson Invitational is a showcase of some of the best athletes in the world," said Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Fred Harvey. "This is a perfect opportunity for our elite athletes to compete and learn how to manage themselves with the best. I plan the schedule to prepare us for the NCAA Championships and the Big 12 Conference Championships."
 
The Wildcats were last in action in Albuquerque, N.M., for the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. The competition was the first team scoring meet of the season for the team. Overall, the men finished fourth and the women placed 11th in a competitive field. Keilee Hall was the lone event winner for the Wildcats, placing first in the women's 600m with a personal best time.

In the men's shot put, Tyler Michelini finished runner-up and Zach Landa placed third. Landa ranks first in the Big 12 in the event and Michelini now ranks second after a personal best throw at their last competition.

Arizona men's shot put ranks second in the nation in the USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings,  The Wildcats also posted numerous personal and season bests at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic.

Zach Landa – ranks fifth in the NCAA and first in the Big 12 in the shot put; ranks fourth in the Big 12 in the weight throw.
Tyler Michelini – ranks 10th in the NCAA and second in the Big 12 in the shot put.
Zach Extine – ranks 17th in the NCAA and sixth in the Big 12 in the 60m hurdles.
Reinaldo Rodrigues – ranks 21st in the NCAA and second in the Big 12 in the long jump.
Trayvion White-Austin – ranks fourth in the Big 12 in the 200m; ranks seventh in the Big 12 in the 60m.
Michael Ogbeiwi – ranks sixth in the Big 12 in the weight throw.
Sylvan Osman – ranks seventh in the Big 12 in the pole vault.
Youssef Koudssi – ranks eighth in the Big 12 in the shot put.
 
WOMEN
Emma Gates – ranks sixth in the NCAA and second in the Big 12 in the high jump.
Paris Mikinski – ranks 12th in the NCAA and fourth in the Big 12 in the high jump.
Jade Brown – ranks 20th in the NCAA and fifth in the Big 12 in the 60m.
Tapenisa Havea – ranks 21st in the NCAA and third in the Big 12 in the shot put.
Hollan Powers – ranks 23rd in the NCAA and fourth in the Big 12 in the pentathlon; ranks ninth in the Big 12 in the 60m hurdles.
Keilee Hall – ranks fourth in the Big 12 in the 600y.
Antonia Sanchez Nunez – ranks fourth in the Big 12 in the 400m.
Ava Simms – ranks sixth in the Big 12 in the 400m.
McKenna Watson – ranks seventh in the Big 12 in the 200m.
Jenica Bosko – ranks eighth in the Big 12 in the long jump.
Taylen Wise – ranks eighth in the Big 12 in the 60m hurdles.
