ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Arizona Track & Field completed day one of the New Mexico Collegiate Classic on Friday.
The competition, hosted at the Albuquerque Convention Center, features some of the top teams and athletes in the nation.
Keilee Hall highlighted day one for the Wildcats with her win in the women's 600m.
Sylvan Osman also had a big personal best clearance in the men's pole vault. The rest of the team posted formidable marks in a competitive field.
TOP-THREE FINISHES
Keilee Hall – First, Women's 600m
FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
In the B section of the men's pole vault,
Sylvan Osman cleared a massive personal best height of 17-2.25 (5.24m) to win that section of the event. Osman's clearance is the best by an Arizona freshman since 1996. In the B section of the women's pole vault,
Ena McMahon finished third and
Olivia Dillon placed fourth. The two both cleared a height of 12-8.25 (3.87m), which is a personal best for McMahon.
Reinaldo Rodrigues finished fourth overall in the men's long jump, posting a mark of 25-2.5 (7.68m). It was Rodrigues season debut in the event. In the women's long jump,
Jenica Bosko placed fifth overall with a leap of 20-0.25 (6.10m).
Zach Landa and
Michael Ogbeiwi finished fifth and sixth overall in the men's weight throw, respectively. Landa's best mark on the day was 69-6 (21.18m). Ogbeiwi's best was a big personal record of 68-4.5 (20.84m), marking the first time he has gone over 20m in the event. In the women's weight throw,
Mackenna Orie posted a personal best throw of 58-1 (17.70m).
TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
Keilee Hall earned her first individual event win of the season, winning the women's 600m with a personal best time of 1:29.90. Hall finished in front of the runner-up by over a second.
In the men's 200m invitational,
Trayvion White-Austin clocked a season best time of 20.85 to place sixth overall. He finished second in his heat.
Tyson Tippett posted a time of 21.35 in the event as well. In the women's 200m invitational,
McKenna Watson clocked a time of 23.37 and finished 11th overall. Watson is hunting for the Arizona school record in the event of 23.29, with her fastest time on the season being just 0.02 seconds off the record.
In the unseeded portion of the men's 200m,
Brian Limage clocked a personal best time of 21.28.
James Onanubosi ran a time of 21.68. In the unseeded portion of the women's 200m,
Jade Brown ran a time of 24.24,
Dakota Minor clocked a time of 24.59, and
Presley Money posted an indoor personal best time of 24.68.
Christian Simmons ran an indoor personal best time in the men's 800m of 1:51.92 to place ninth overall.
In the men's 600m,
Julius Cheek and
Yan Vazquez finished sixth and seventh overall, respectively.
