Wildcats Open Outdoor Season at Home

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Track & Field opens the 2025 outdoor season on Saturday with the Arizona Spring Break Fiesta at Drachman Stadium.

This marks the second year that the Wildcats have hosted this early season outdoor event. The Wildcats will compete against Minnesota, Grand Canyon, and other local Arizona schools. The competition gets started at 9:00 a.m. MST on Saturday with field events. Running events begin at 1:00 p.m. MST. Tickets for the whole day of competition. Tickets can be purchased here. Live results can be found here.

"It's exciting to have the opportunity to open our outdoor season here at home," said the Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Fred Harvey. "Many programs, such as the University of Minnesota, will compete and will give us an early opportunity to post some top NCAA West performances."

This meet comes a week after the Wildcats competed at their first ever Big 12 Indoor Championships. At the conference championships, the men and women both finished seventh overall. Zach Landa (shot put) and Trayvion White-Austin (200m) became the first indoor conference champions in Arizona Track & Field history. In addition to Landa and White-Austin, the team earned 25 medals at the competition, broke five school records, and saw numerous new personal bests.

This outdoor meet comes before the conclusion of the indoor season, with six Wildcats qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships in Virginia Beach, Va., on March 14-15. Emma Gates (high jump), Zach Landa (shot put), Tyler Michelini (shot put), Paris Mikinski (high jump), Reinaldo Rodrigues (long jump), and Trayvion White-Austin (200m) all ranked in the top 16 in the nation in their respective events to qualify. A majority of the rest of the Wildcats will compete at home on Saturday and kick off their outdoor season. A number of Arizona triathletes will also compete at the meet.
