Wildcats Make The Trip To Augusta, Georgia This Weekend

Wildcats head out to Augusta, Georgia for the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational. Play begins on Saturday with 36 holes at Forest Hills Golf Club with the concluding final round on Sunday. This tournament is being played in Augusta the week of the Masters makes this a very unique experience for these teams. Arizona will be competing against a strong field with multiple top 25 ranked teams.

Tournament History
Founded in 1979, The Augusta Haskins Award Invitational, presented by Valspar, carries on the rich tradition of golf in Augusta, Georgia. Steven Paine, men's golf coach for tournament host Augusta University, said that "having the Masters in town that week is obviously a big draw. One of the cool things we get to do as part of the event is take the field to watch the practice round on Monday, after our final round. The winner of the tournament also gets a PGA Tour invitation to the Valspar Invitational." As you can see there is a lot more to the experience of playing in this tournament outside of the 54-holes that will take place. Additionally, there is a lot at stake with a chance to play in a PGA Tour event. A unique experience that any of these young collegiate golfers would love to have. There is nothing quite like Masters week in Augusta, so the environment surrounding the tournament will be unlike most collegiate tournaments.
