Pollo Picks Up a Fifth Place Finish at The Augusta Haskins Award Invitational

Arizona remains in seventh place to finish out the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational. The Cats saved their best round for the final round shooting 5-under par. Even though it was not enough to keep pace with the leaders, it was a great way to end the tournament. Zach Pollo picked up a fifth place finish after shooting a 67 in the final round.

Pollo had his best and lowest round of the season after going 5-under with six birdies today. That matched the lowest round of any player in the field. Four of his birdies came on the back nine. Johnny Walker shot even par in a round that he had to battle back from a 3-over par front nine. Just like Pollo he had four birdies on the back nine to finish tied for 25th.

Filip Jakubcik finished with a 72 that had an eagle and two bogey. A very solid tournament for Jakubcik with a tie for 30th place. Tianyi Xiong bounced back after struggling on day one with an even par round. He started his round with a 3-over par front nine but was able to find three birdies on the back nine. Matej Baca had an eventful day after a 2-under front nine and a 3-over par back nine. Baca finished in a tie for 44th.

The Cats will be back in action for the Western Intercollegiate on April 14th-16th. Golf Channel will be airing live coverage of the tournament so stay tuned for more information on that.
