TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball's pitcher/infielder Devyn Netz has been named a Top 10 Finalist for USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, announced on Wednesday morning by USA Softball. The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year is considered the most prestigious honor in Division I women's collegiate softball. Netz was named to the Top 25 Finalist list earlier this season.

The two-way star from Sierra Madre, California is batting .352 and leads Arizona in home runs (17), RBI (62), victories (22), and strikeouts (110). Netz has been dominant in the circle and ranks ninth in the NCAA in walks allowed per seven innings (1.07), 11th in the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.00), and 14th in the nation with 22 victories. Her 62 RBI ranks 24th and her 17 home runs ranks 41st in the nation.

Defensively, Netz has a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage and has assisted in 17 double plays.
 
Last week, Netz was named the Big 12 Player of the Year. She became Arizona's eighth conference player of the year and first to earn the award in the Big 12. The veteran pitcher threw her first career perfect game against BYU and became the first Wildcat to toss a perfect game and hit a home run in the same game.

This is the first time Netz is a finalist for the award. She is trying to become Arizona's first winner of the award, which was first given in 2002.

The list of 10 finalists will be cut to three on May 19. The award will be given out at the Women's College World Series.

Netz and the Wildcats are back in action this weekend as they host the NCAA Tucson Regional. Arizona earned the No. 13 national seed and will face Santa Clara in the opening game of the regional on Friday, May 16 at 4:30 p.m. MST on ESPN+.
