Six Wildcats Earn NFCA All-Region Honors

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball placed six on the NFCA All-West Region teams announced by the association on Thursday. Three Wildcats – Dakota Kennedy, Devyn Netz, and Sydney Stewart – were named to the first team. Regan Shockey and Miranda Stoddard earned second team honors while Kaiah Altmeyer was named to the third team.
 
The six Wildcats are now eligible for the 2024 NFCA Division I All-America teams, which will be announced on Wednesday, May 28.

Kennedy is receiving her third All-West honor and is a first-team member for the second straight season. Last week, the junior from Sacramento, California was named to the All-Big 12 first team and to the Big 12 All-Defensive team. Kennedy is leading Arizona with a .433 batting average and is second on the team with nine doubles. She has recorded a perfect fielding percentage in left field with 63 putouts.

Netz is earning her second all-region nod and first first-team honor. The senior from Sierra Madre, California was named the Big 12 Player of the Year last week and earned a spot on the USA Softball Player of the Year Top 10 Finalist list this week. Netz garnered first-team All-Big 12 honors and Big 12 All-Defensive team honors after a standout season. She leads Arizona and ranks third in the conference with 17 home runs. Netz also leads the team and ranks second in the Big 12 in RBI (62) and victories (22).
 
Stewart is a first-team All-West honoree for the first time in her career and is picking up her second career all-region honor after earning a spot on the All-Pacific third team last season. The catcher from San Jose, California was named first-team All-Big 12 last week. Stewart leads the team and ranks third in the Big 12 with 17 home runs. She also ranks third in the conference with 60 RBI and is second in the Big 12 with a .786 slugging percentage.

Shockey is earning her second All-West honor as a member of the all-region second team. The Chino Hills, California native was named to the All-Big 12 second team last week and leads Arizona with 78 hits and 20 stolen bases. Shockey is third on Arizona and in the Big 12 with a .404 batting average.
 
Stoddard is receiving her first career all-region honor. Last week, the two-way player from Anaheim, California earned first-team All-Big 12 honors. Stoddard is second on the team with 13 home runs and with 12 victories. She is fourth on Arizona with 43 RBI and sixth with a .350 batting average.
 
Altmeyer is earning All-West honors for the first time in her career. The right fielder from San Diego, California leads Arizona and the Big 12 with 17 doubles which ranks 21st in the NCAA. She ranks second on the team with 57 hits and 41 walks and third with 49 RBI and 46 runs scored.
