Netz Selected to Bandits in AUSL Collegiate Draft

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball's Devyn Netz was selected to the Bandits of the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) on Saturday night during the first-ever AUSL College Draft.

Netz was one of 12 collegiate athletes to receive a golden ticket this season by the AUSL to guarantee a spot one of the league's four teams.

The creation of the AUSL was announced last June by Athletes Unlimited (AU). The new league will feature four teams – the Bandits, Blaze, Talons, and Volts – that will play in a traditional format while traveling to 6-8 different cities in the first season. Beginning in 2026, AUSL will become a city-based league. Arizona Softball legends, Jennie Finch and Jenny Dalton-Hill will be involved with the AUSL. Finch will serve as an advisor to the league and Dalton-Hill will lead the Bandits as General Manager.

Netz, who was picked by the Bandits in the third round, will be wrapping up her career with Arizona as the only Wildcat to ever throw a perfect game and hit a home run in the same game when she accomplished the feat earlier this season. She will join former Wildcat teammate Taylor McQuillin on the Bandits.

This season, Netz has been an electric two-way star for the Wildcats. She currently leads Arizona with 20 wins and 17 home runs, both of which rank third in the Big 12. Netz is ranked in the top 50 nationally in home runs, home runs per game (.34), RBI (57), RBI per game (1.14), strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.04), victories, and walks allowed per seven innings (1.11).

During her career at Arizona, Netz has maintained an ERA of 3.22 and has won over 50 games in the circle. She has struck out over 330 batters and pitched over 450 innings in her career. Offensively, Netz holds a .321 career batting average and has hit over 30 home runs.

Netz garnered All-Pac-12 second team accolades along with NFCA All-West Region second team honors in 2023. Additionally, she has earned Pac-12 Player of the Week and Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors during her career.

The AUSL season will begin June 7 as the Bandits face the Talons in Rosemont, Illinois and in Wichita, Kansas as the Volts take on the Blaze.
