LAKE BLUFF, ILL. — After two rounds on the first day of the Jackson T. Stephens Cup, the Wildcats are in third place at 5-under par. Four Cats are even par or better after 36 holes. 

Zach Pollo, William Wistrand and Connor Hamm are all tied for 11th at 1-under par. Wistrand carded a 67 (-3) in his second round with six birdies. Pollo's best round was his first 18 holes with 68 that included three birdies and a single bogey on the first hole of the day. Connor Hamm playing in his home state carded rounds of 70 and 69. 

Freshman Dillon Dean is even par for the tournament after finishing with rounds of 69 and 71. Filip Jakubcik is tied for 19th at 1-over par after a 69 in his second round.

As a team, the Wildcats led the field in par 5 scoring by playing it a total of 13-under par. Unfortunately, they also are tied for first in bogeys made. William Wistrand had 10 birdies in his 36 holes which is second best among the field. 

The Wildcats tee off at 9:24am MST tomorrow. In hopes of advancing to match play on Wednesday by finishing in the top four with the top two teams playing for the championship and the others playing for third.
