AMES, Iowa — Arizona battled through extensive foul trouble Friday afternoon, ultimately falling 90–65 at Iowa State while playing the final 2:40 with just four players on the floor.
The Wildcats had five players foul out in the contest, including Molly Ladwig, Kamryn Kitchen, Achol Magot, Nora Francois and Noelani Cornfield, severely limiting Arizona's rotation down the stretch.
Despite the adversity, Arizona continued to compete, placing three players in double figures. Noelani Cornfield led the Wildcats with a team-high 19 points, while Sumayah Sugapong added 13 points, marking her fifth consecutive game scoring in double figures. Nora Francois paced Arizona on the glass with eight rebounds, and Cornfield also led the team with five assists.
Molly Ladwig, who earned the start, delivered a strong performance with a career-high 10 points, providing a spark offensively as Arizona worked to stay within reach.
Arizona came out of halftime with renewed energy, outscoring Iowa State 23–22 in the third quarter behind improved ball movement and defensive pressure. The Wildcats were unable to sustain the push in the fourth as foul trouble mounted and the Cyclones capitalized late.
Arizona head to it's in-state rival Arizona State next Wednesday, January 28th with tip-off scheduled for 6:30 MST/
