Filip Jakubcik Named to Ben Hogan Award Watch List

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Men's Golf senior Filip Jakubcik has been named to the 2026 Ben Hogan Award Watch List, as announced Wednesday by the Ben Hogan Award selection committee. Jakubcik is one of just 35 players nationwide recognized for one of college golf's most prestigious individual honors.

The Ben Hogan Award honors the top amateur and collegiate golfer across NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA levels, taking into account results from collegiate, amateur and professional events over the previous 12 months. An international selection committee made up of leaders from collegiate, amateur and professional golf determines the selections for each stage of the award process.

Jakubcik, a senior from Holesov, Czech Republic, has been a key contributor for the Wildcats throughout his career and enters the spring season among the nation's elite players. He just picked up his third career win at the N.I.T. this week. Additionally, he leads the team with a scoring average of 71.54. Jakubcik is currently the No. 29 ranked collegiate golfer in the nation this season (per SCOREBOARD clipped).

His inclusion on the watch list places him alongside standout golfers from some of the top programs in college golf. Past recipients of the Ben Hogan Award include many of golf's biggest names, with former winners combining for 70 PGA TOUR victories, over $495 million in career earnings, and numerous Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup appearances.

The Ben Hogan Award watch list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists on April 16, followed by the announcement of three finalists on May 12. The winner will be crowned at a black-tie ceremony on Memorial Day, May 25, at the TCU Legends Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
