Arizona Travels to California for the Mustang Roundup

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Arizona Beach Volleyball team will travel to California to compete in the Mustang Roundup hosted by Cal Poly, March 13 -14. The SandCats look to continue their strong play after a good start to the season going 8-3 through their first three weekends.   

No. 19 Arizona went 2-1 during the Sun Devil Classic, defeating Southern Mississippi (3-2), Nebraska (5-0) and falling to No. 8 ASU (2-3). The Wildcats will face No. 4 Cal Poly, CSUN, Santa Clara and UC Davis this weekend.  

Mustang Roundup Match Ups 

Cal Poly- Arizona trails the series with 4 wins and 6 losses against Cal Poly. In their latest matchup from the 2025 season the Cats fell to Cal Poly (1-4).

CSUN- Arizona is 3-0 all time against CSUN. Arizona won their most recent matchup against CSUN in the 2024 season, taking the match (3-2).

Santa Clara- Arizona against Santa Clara is 8-0 all time. Six of those wins have come at home for Arizona. The Cats most recent match against Santa Clara was in the 2024 season where Arizona took the match (4-1).

UC Davis- Arizona against UC Davis is 5-0 all time. The Cats played UC Davis in the opening weekend of the season at the GCU Invitational. Arizona took the match (4-1).

Noting the Wildcats
Regan Holmer and Carli Cisneros
Holmer and Cisneros played as the #1 pair all season so far and have gone 7-4. Their biggest wins of the season have come against No. 13 GCU and No. 19 Georgia State. The pair went 2-1 this past weekend, winning their match against Southern Mississippi and Nebraska. The pair fell short to No. 8 ASU in three sets. Both newcomers this year, Holmer and Cisneros look to continue their success as the #1 pair.

Ashlyn Zilliken and Madeline Walker
Zilliken and Walker went 7-4 in their first three weekends of the season as the #2 pair. They were the sole point against No. 5 TCU in the opening weekend and won their match against No. 19 Georgia State. The pair went 2-1 this past weekend with a notable win over No. 8 ASU giving the pair their third ranked win of the season.

Sadie Moore and Brooke Boyko
Moore and Boyko have played as the #5 pair this season, going 7-4 so far. Their biggest win was against No. 13 GCU where they clinched the match and secured the upset on opening weekend. The pair played well at the Cactus Classic going 3-1. This past weekend the pair went 2-1 helping the Cats secure a sweep over Nebraska and also winning their match against No. 8 ASU.
