TUCSON, Ariz.– Arizona's student-athletes for the month of February have been announced by C.A.T.S. Academics. The month's honorees are Tayler Biehl (Softball), Tony Xiong (Men's Golf), Maria Cabanillas (Women's Golf), and Evan Nelson (Men's Basketball).
 

Athlete: Tayler Biehl
Year: Senior
Sport: Softball
Hometown: Folsom, CA

"Tayler Biehl is a Senior on the Softball team and is an outstanding student majoring in Nutritional Sciences. After graduation, she is planning to go to Nursing School.  She is a conscientious student with strong ties to the university and Tucson community.  Like many of our student athletes, Tayler has a strong work ethic both on and off the field and is a great ambassador for our institution and athletic department."

"Tony Xiong, a junior on the men's golf team, has had a wonderful academic and athletic career at the university of Arizona. He demonstrates a strong work ethic and has stayed focused both on and off the course. Tony's commitment to academic and athletic excellence demonstrates to me that he will continue to have success."

"Maria Cabanillas, a junior on the women's golf team, has exceled in the classroom. She has a strong work ethic and has easily balanced both athletics and academics and will be graduating early and starting a master's degree. Maria's commitment to academics and her positive attitude have confirmed for me that she will find success in all aspects of her life."

"Evan Nelson is a senior post-graduate student-athlete and member of the m's basketball team. A native of Tucson, AZ, Evan has done an outstanding job academically in his time at The University of Arizona. He is pursuing a graduate degree in Sport & Recreation Leadership and is on track to complete his graduate program this summer."
