TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona Beach Volleyball will host the Arizona Invitational at Bear Down Beach, March 20-21. The SandCats look to continue their strong play after another winning weekend at the Mustang Roundup.
No.19 Arizona went 3-1 Mustang Roundup, defeating CSUN (5-0), Santa Clara (4-1), UC Davis (3-2) and falling to No. 4 Cal Poly (0-5). The Wildcats will face Tarleton St., UTEP, Missouri St. and San Francisco this weekend.
Arizona Invitational Match Ups
Tarleton St.- Arizona has only faced Tarleton St. once. The match was in the 2025 season where the Cats swept the match winning (5-0).
UTEP- Arizona is 6-0 all time against UTEP. Arizona won their most recent matchup against the Miners earlier in the season at the Cactus Classic where the Wildcats swept the match (5-0). This is the final time the two teams will face off this season.
Missouri St.- Arizona against Missouri St. is 6-0 all time. All six of those wins have come at home for Arizona. The Cats most recent match against Missouri St. was in the 2024 season where Arizona took the match (5-0).
San Francisco- Arizona is 4-0 all time in the series with San Francisco. The Cats last played the Dons in the 2025 season where Arizona took the match (4-1).
Noting the Wildcats
Regan Holmer and Carlie Cisneros
Holmer and Cisneros have played as the #1 pair all season and have gone 10-5. Their biggest wins of the season have come against #13 GCU and #19 Georgia State. The pair went 3-1 this past weekend, winning their matches against CSUN, Santa Clara and UC Davis. The pair's only loss on the weekend came from #4 Cal Poly. Both newcomers this year, Holmer and Cisneros look to continue their success as the #1 pair.
Ashlyn Zilliken and Madeline Walker
Zilliken and Walker have gone 9-6 throughout the first month of the season as the #2 pair. They were the sole point against #5 TCU in the opening weekend and picked up wins against #19 Georgia State and #8 ASU thus far. The pair went 2-2 this past weekend, getting wins against CSUN and UC Davis. The Junior and Sophomore pair will look to continue their success.
Meghan O'Meara and Adri Nieves Papaleo
O'Meara and Nieves paired up for the first time this season as the #3 pair. The pair went 3-1 on their first weekend together. Their biggest win of the weekend came against UC Davis where the pair earned the clinching point for Arizona in three sets to win the match 3-2. They also picked up wins against CSUN and Santa Clara.
