TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball's
Kez Lucas has been named the Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday. This is Lucas' first Big 12 weekly honor and the second Big 12 weekly award for Arizona this season.

Lucas helped Arizona to the series win over Arizona State by going 4-for-9 with a .444 batting average at the plate. She recorded a .556 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage during the series.

The freshman from Paoua, Hawai'i had a breakout weekend and led the Wildcats with five RBI during the weekend to take the series over the Sun Devils. In Arizona's first win over ASU, Lucas went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI to lead the offense and set career highs in hits and RBI. Lucas drove in at least one run in every game of the weekend. Lucas and the Wildcats will host Grand Canyon on Tuesday, March 24 before welcoming Baylor to Hillenbrand Stadium for a three-game series beginning Friday, March 27 at 6 p.m. MST. Â
