TUCSON, Ariz. - The Arizona Beach Volleyball team will travel to Tempe to compete in the Sun Devil Classic, March 6 -7. The SandCats carry momentum from their home opener, the Cactus Classic where the Cats went 3-1.   

Arizona went 3-1 during the Cactus Classic, defeating UTEP (5-0), Oregon (4-1) and #19 Georgia State (5-0) and falling to #9 ASU (0-5). The Wildcats will face ASU, Southern Mississippi and Nebraska this weekend.  

Sun Devil Classic Match Ups 

Arizona State- Arizona leads the series with 17 wins and 13 losses against ASU, however Arizona is currently on a 5-match losing streak. In their latest matchup from the Cactus Classic Arizona fell to Arizona State 0-5. Arizona will look to bounce back in the rematch this Friday. 

Southern Mississippi- Arizona is 2-0 all time against Southern Mississippi. Arizona won their most recent matchup against the Golden Eagles in the 2023 season, taking the match 4-1.

Nebraska- Arizona against Nebraska is 1-2 all time. The Cats haven't played Nebraska since the 2017 season where Arizona won their matchup against the Huskers 3-2.

Noting the Wildcats

Regan Holmer and Carli Cisneros
Holmer and Cisneros played as the #1 pair all season so far and have gone 5-3. Their biggest wins of the past weekends came against #13 GCU and #19 Georgia State where they crucial points in both matches. Both newcomers this year, Holmer and Cisneros look to continue their success as the #1 pair.

Ashlyn Zilliken and Madeline Walker
Zilliken and Walker went 5-3 in their first two weekends of the season as the #2 pair. They were the sole point against #5 TCU in the opening weekend and went 2-2 in the Cactus Classic picking up point over UTEP and #19 Georgia State.

Sadie Moore and Brooke Boyko
Moore and Boyko have played well as the #5 pair this season, going 5-3 over the first two weekends. Their biggest win was against #13 GCU where they won their three-set match to clinch the match and secure the upset on opening weekend. The pair played well at the Cactus Classic as well going 3-1.
