Taishi Moto Sits in Third Place After 36 Holes From The Desimone Invitational

Arizona Men's Golf completed the opening day of the Desimone Invitational with two rounds of play, ending the day 12-under par as a team and tied for ninth at Lake Merced Golf Club.

Taishi Moto led the way for the Cats, as he sits 9-under overall after rounds of 66 and 69. Moto had 13 birdies across the 36 holes which is tied for the most out of any player.

Zach Pollo also turned in a strong performance and is 4-under through 36 holes. He shot even par in the morning round then followed it up with a 4-under round in the afternoon to finish tied for 19th.

William Wistrand is 1-over overall following rounds of 2-over 74 and 1-under 71, while Tianyi Xiong sits at 5-over after posting rounds of 78 and 71 on the day. Matej Baca is 9-over through two rounds.

Connor Hamm, competing as an individual, shot even par then 4-under in his two rounds to finish the first day tied for 19th.

Arizona will return to the course tomorrow at 8:45am MST for the final round.
