TUCSON, Ariz.– Arizona split matches on the final day of the Wildcat Spring Challenge. The Cats got their day started with a 5-0 sweep over Colorado Mesa followed up by a 2-3 loss to No. 14 Hawaii, finishing the weekend 3-1.

Carlie Cisneros and
Regan Holmer got day two going for Arizona picking up their match in straight sets, 21-15, 21-13 and giving Arizona the early 1-0 lead.
Ashlyn Zilliken and
Madeline Walker followed with another dominant straight-set win, 21-17, 21-11, to give Arizona a 2-0 lead.
Sophia Winter and
Jamie Streit kept it going for the Cats, the #4 pair won in straight-sets 21-14, 21-17, to earn the clinching point and make the score 3-0.
Sadie Moore and
Brooke Boyko fought hard to get a two-set win taking their sets, 21-18, 21-18, extending the SandCats lead to 4-0.
Meghan O'Meara and Adriana Nieves completed the sweep for Arizona taking their match in straight-sets, 21-16, 21-18.
Game 2 Arizona 2, No. 14 Hawaii 3
Regan Holmer and
Carlie Cisneros were the first finish in the duel against Hawaii. The #1 pair battled hard, barely dropping both sets, 20-22, 19-21, giving Hawaii a 1-0 lead.
Ashlyn Zilliken and
Madeline Walker fought hard through a three-set match. The pair dropped set one 18-21 before bouncing back set 2, 21-16, to force a third set. The #2 pair came up short in the third set, 12-15, to extend Hawaii's lead to 2-0.
Meghan O'Meara and Adriana Nieves picked up a crucial point for the Cats. The pair won a hard-fought three set match, losing the first set, 13-21, before winning the next two sets, 21-19, 15-7, to keep the Cats in the Duel.
Brooke Boyko and
Sadie Moore also won a three-set match. The pair won the first set, 21-13, dropped the second set, 15-21, and won the third set, 15-12, to tie up the duel at 2-2.
Jamie Streit and
Sophia Winter fought hard on court 4 as the pair went three sets. The duo lost set one, 14-21, won set two, 21-18, and fell short in set three, 12-15, giving Hawaii the 3-2 win.
The Cats will take a weekend off before heading to New Orleans, Apr. 17-18, to compete in the NOLA Classic. Arizona will face Tulane (Fri.), Louisiana Monroe (Fri.), New Orleans (Sat.) and Florida International (Sat.).
