2016 (XC): In his first season with the Wildcats Vasquez had a nice season, never finishing outside the top-five on the team in all five of his meets this season. Vasquez kicked off his season with a 21st-place finish in the George Kyte Classic, followed by an 11th-place finish in the Dave Murray Invitational. Vasquez went to place 72nd overall in the Pac-12 Championships while also adding Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention to his list of accolades.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-time letterwinner in cross country and track & field at Catalina Foothills High School in Tucson, Ariz. … Was the state champion in 2014 in the 800m and anchored both the 2013 and 2014 4x800m state championship teams … Was a second-team All-State selection in the 800m during his senior season … Was a three-time honorable mention All-State selection three times in track and cross country … A two-time USATF junior Olympic All-American in the 1500m in 2012 and 2013.

PERSONAL: The son of Albert and Blanca Vasquez … The Tucson, Ariz. native has one brother, Albert and one sister, Jackie … He plans to study philosophy and law.
