TUCSON, Ariz. – The Pac-12 Conference announced their annual All-Academic teams on Tuesday, Nov. 17. Sheaffer Skadsen and Jaden DeGracie were named to the first team while Lexe Selman was named to the second team. Eight other Wildcats earned honorable mention accolades as well.
For Skadsen, this honor just adds to the already impressive amount of academic accolades she has collected in her time at Arizona. Just this year, she was named Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was also named to the District 8 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team. This is the third time in her career that she has been named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team. Skadsen boasts a 4.0 GPA with a major in Public Health.
DeGracie earned her second-straight first-team selection as she currently holds a 3.94 GPA with a major in Pre-Physiology. Earlier this season, she was also named to the District 8 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team.
Selman earned her second-straight All-Academic honor this year as well as she was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team last year. She boasts a GPA of 3.90 with a major of Pre-Physiology as well.
Eight other Wildcats also earned All-Academic honors from the Pac-12 as well. Cece Bilginer, Cali Crisler, Hayley Estopare, Laura Pimienta, Haley Silverberg, Hannah Stevens, Gabi Stoian and Hannah Wong all earned honorable mention accolades.
Bilginer, Crisler, Pimienta and Stoian are being honored by the Pac-12 for the first time academically, but Stoian was named to the District 8 CoSIDA Academic Second Team earlier this year. Estopare and Stevens earned their second-straight honorable mention selection while Wong earned her third-straight honorable mention selection. Lastly, Silverberg earned her second straight conference honor as well as she was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team last year.
All in all, 11 Wildcats were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team, which is far and away the most of all time in Arizona history.
Arizona is set to travel to Palo Alto, Calif. to face Santa Clara on Thursday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The match is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. MST.
