Blue Team Wins Fourth-Straight All-Comers Meet

TUCSON, Ariz. Once again, the Blue Team has defended their title as they won their fourth-straight All-Comers Meet. Initially, the scores indicated that the Red and Blue Teams finished in a tie for first place, but after a careful recount, it was revealed that the Blue Team scored 141 points while the Red Team scored 133 points. The White Team finished in third with 120 points.

The teams were chosen through a draft process. The meet was scored in a 7-5-3-1 system with a 7-5 system in the relays, and only the athletes from Arizona are eligible to score. This is not an official meet; therefore the marks set by the student-athletes will not count towards NCAA qualifying marks.

“It was a great competitive meet for us and I liked the way our athletes responded to the elements that we were dealing with out here,” head coach Fred Harvey said. “We were trying to get some people in competition to see where they are at. I think our biggest test today was how they handled the elements in terms of the cold and the rain, and they handled it beautifully. We have some work to do in terms of getting truly ready because when we get back in January we hit the ground running. I thought the coaches did a great job preparing them to do the things that we need to do and I am looking forward to a really good season.”
