TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona Beach Volleyball team will head up north on Friday, Oct. 7 as it takes on Grand Canyon University at 5pm for its first preseason scrimmage. This will be the first taste of play for the Wildcats since their 20-7 season and NCAA Championship berth a season ago.
Arizona introduces five newcomers Natalie Anselmo, Brooke Burling, Caroline Cordes, Olivia Hallaran and Jessica Manley, who will make their Wildcat debuts.
Â
The Cats also welcome new assistant coach, Kyra Iannone, who is an indoor and beach volleyball coach from British Columbia, Canada.
Â
This will be the first time UA and GCU have matched up since 2014, when the Cats fell, 3-2.
Â
The match against GCU is the first of two exhibition matches this fall before Arizona opens the season in February with its inaugural Red-Blue Scrimmage.
