LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Arizona swimming and diving fell to USC on Saturday in Los Angeles. The women lost the meet, 131-169 while the men were defeated 129-165. The women earned six NCAA 'B' cuts in the meet while the men notched four 'B' cuts.
 
Freshman Hannah Cox led the women with two individual wins in the meet. Cox earned a victory in the 500 free with 4:46.59 and later won the 400 IM with 4:15.90. She notched her first NCAA 'B' cuts with the two swims. The freshman also placed third in the 200 free, touching in 1:48.15.
 
Junior Tjasa Oder contributed points for Arizona, opening up the meet for the Cats with a victory in the 1,000 free (9:54.95). Oder later took third in the 500 free with a time of 4:54.72.
 
Sophomore Annie Ochitwa bettered her NCAA 'B' cut in the 100 fly from Friday at UCLA. Ochitwa won the 100 fly with a time of 53.80 and also finished fourth in the 100 back with 55.00.
 
Arizona had two other individual victories for the women. Sophomore Katrina Konopka (50 free – 22.53) and junior Cameron McHugh (200 back – 1:58.56) both earned 'B' cuts from their wins. Konopka also earned a 'B' cut with a runner-up finish in the 100 free (49.35). Sophomore Taylor Garcia added another 'B' cut coming in the 100 back (54.28).
 
On the men's side, senior Tyler Fowler opened up the meet with a victory in the 1,000 free (9:15.20). Junior Nick Hogsed took third in the event with 9:28.38.
 
Freshman Brendan Meyer hit the wall first in the 500 free with 4:29.84. The Cats swept the event as Hogsed was runner-up (4:31.64) and Fowler placed third (4:31.73). Meyer also finished second in the 200 fly with 1:47.81 to earn an NCAA 'B' cut.
 
Sophomore Chatham Dobbs won the 100 fly with a time of 47.86 for a 'B' cut. Dobbs also took third in the 100 back for his second 'B' cut (48.23). Sophomore Blair Bish notched his own 'B' cut in the 100 breast with a runner-up finish (54.81).
 
The Cats continued to dominate the 200 free relay in the last event of the meet. The women went 1-3 in the relay. Morgan Ginnis, Konopka, Ochitwa and Garcia earned a victory with 1:30.31. Ashley Sutherland, Paige Kremer, Sarah Shimomura and McHugh finished third with 1:32.77.
 
The men went 1-2 in the event as Chad Idensohn, Renny Richmond, J.P. Beach and Dobbs won, touching in 1:20.74. Nicholas Magana, Thomas Anderson, Parks Jones and Bish finished second with 1:22.88.
 
Overall, Arizona won nine individual events, six for the women and three for the men. The men had at least two swimmers in the top three in eight events (1,000 free, 200 free, 100 breast, 200 fly, 100 free, 500 free, 100 fly, 200 free relay), going 1-2-3 in the 500 free. The women had multiple swimmers in the top three in seven events (100 back, 50 free, 100 free, 500 free, 400 IM, 200 free relay, 1-meter).
