TUCSON, Ariz. – The seventh-ranked Arizona sand volleyball team is back in action at home this Friday as it hosts the two-day Wildcat Spring Challenge. On Friday, Arizona will take on CSU Bakersfield at 2 p.m. and New Mexico at 3:30 p.m. MST on the Arizona Sand Volleyball Courts.
The Sand Cats will be giving away sunglasses to the first 100 fans who come out to Bear Down Beach. Both matches will be broadcast LIVE on Pac-12 Networks and live programming is available from select television providers.
Additionally, The Wildcats will also host Cal State Northridge and their rivals to the north, Arizona State in the event. The Cats will close out the second day of the Wildcat Spring Challenge playing Cal State Northridge on Saturday at 12 p.m.
The Wildcats are 5-1 overall while boasting a 4-0 home record; UA swept the Arizona Invitational to begin its season.
The Wildcat Spring Challenge will be the second tournament of the season that Arizona will host, as the Sand Cats dominated going undefeated in the Arizona Invitational two weeks ago.
The Arizona Sand Volleyball Courts are located at Jimenez Field, home to the former practice football fields on the corner of Enke Dr. and Campbell Ave.
Admission to all home sand volleyball matches is free. Fans are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.
