FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Men's swimming and diving rounded out day 2 of the Pac-12 Championships in fifth with a total score of 126. The men's diving results from last week are now included in the scores. Stanford leads (387) followed by USC (305) and California (292).
Overall, the Cats tallied 11 NCAA 'B' cuts on the day, all but one from individual events.
Junior
J.P. Beach led the men with the best finish of the night. Beach took eighth in the 50 free with a season-best of 19.67. He was the only Wildcat to make the A final tonight.
In the B final of the 50 free, sophomore
Chatham Dobbs tied for first (19.66). Junior
Chad Idensohn finished fifth in the B final with 19.83 while freshman
Jorge Iga took eighth with 19.97. Sophomore
Matthew Salerno then placed fifth in the C final with his personal-best time of 20.20.

Nick Thorne finished fourth in the B final of the 200 IM with a time of 1:45.90, improving his time from the prelims. In the C final, sophomore
Mathias Oh took fifth (1:48.45) while
Matt Lujan placed eighth (1:49.68).
In the B final of the 500 free, sophomore
Parks Jones notched a fifth-place finish with 4:23.72 followed by freshman
Jerad Kaskawal with 4:24.75. Junior
Chris Wieser won the C final (4:23.05) followed by freshman
Brendan Meyer (4:23.77), almost two seconds ahead of the third-place swimmer.
In the 200 free relay, Dobbs, Beach, Idensohn and
Thomas Anderson took fifth with a time of 1:17.81 for an NCAA 'B' cut.
