LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The 9-13 Arizona men's tennis team is in Los Angeles to compete against No. 6 USC on Friday April 14 at 2:30 p.m. MST and No.7 UCLA on Sunday April 16 at 12:00 p.m. MST in what are two of the final three regular season conference matches the Wildcats are scheduled to play.
 
"There is another great weekend of tennis in front of us," said head coach Clancy Shields. "We will be televised on Friday against USC, so it's a great opportunity for our guys to showcase their tennis. I've been saying the same things since day one: 'We need to keep improving daily and move the program forward each and every day.' I'm encouraged about the progress we are making and hope to continue that progress this weekend."  
 
USC holds a 20-4 regular season record and is 3-1 in conference play with their only conference loss coming at the hands of Stanford on April 7th. Led by two ranked singles players: freshman, No. 23 Brandon Holt and sophomore, No. 72 Logan Smith, USC has bested Oregon on March. 31, Washington on April 1, and California on April 8th. The last time the Wildcats and Trojans faced off was in April 2016 when USC bested Arizona 4-0.
 
UCLA currently has a 14-4 regular season record (3-0 in conference play) and will play Utah on Friday while Arizona is facing USC. If the Bruins take down Utah, they will compete against Arizona riding a seven match win streak which includes victories over Washington, Oregon, and California. Like Southern California, UCLA features two ranked singles players in senior, No. 20 Gage Brymer and junior, No. 43 Martin Redlicki. Arizona fell 4-0 to UCLA in their last matchup which was in LaNelle Robson on Friday, April 8 2016.
 
Friday's match against USC will be the first and only televised match of the Wildcats' 2017 season. It will be available on Pac-12 Arizona, Pac-12 Los Angeles, and available to stream HERE.
