TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona (6-0) won 5-2 over Nevada (1-2) on Friday afternoon to remain undefeated this season. The Wildcats won the doubles point to start the match and then won four singles matches to secure the victory over Nevada.
"I think we did really great today," said head coach
Vicky Maes. "We did a fantastic job in doubles and we played the way we have been preaching. The girls responded well to some changes in doubles and we had a bit of slow start at court one, but they recovered and stayed in the match which helped us close out at court three. Today was a massive improvement since the first match we played this season. We carried our momentum well into singles and I think we were cruising on every court, with the exception of court one. We kind of let them in the match a little bit, which probably shouldn't have happened. We still have a few things to work on and we know we will face a tough opponent against Houston, but we have a lot of positives to bring into that match from today and I have confidence we will get another win on Sunday."
The Wildcats will face University of Houston (5-0) Feb. 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. MST.
