TUCSON, Ariz. -- The No. 51 ranked Arizona Wildcats come home to face the New Mexico State Aggies on Saturday.
The Cats are 14-8 on the season, which is the most wins in a season for Arizona since 2008. Freshman
Filip Malbasic has been a big part of this success, as he has racked up 17 singles wins on the season compared to only two losses. Sophomore
Alejandro Reguant has 15 singles wins himself, and has only dropped three matches.
The Aggies come in with a 9-5 record on the season, but have only beaten the Wildcats once out of 23 tries in program history.
"We've got a big one this Saturday versus a very good New Mexico State team," said head Coach
Clancy Shields. "They are coming off a top 50 win last week and are playing very well. We need to play much sharper in doubles and continue to play complete matches in singles this weekend. We are in the hunt for the NCAA tournament, so we are definitely hungry to make a push at the end of the season."
This is the Wildcats' final non-conference match of the season.
