Wurm ('09) To Be Inducted Into Arizona Hall of Fame

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee has chosen nine individuals for induction into the University of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame, and Arizona gymnastics' very own Karin Wurm ('09) is receiving this distinguished honor.

Eight other individuals are being recognized for their athletic and academic accomplishments at Arizona, read the full list here.

Karin Wurm was a GymCat from 2004 to 2009, and during her time at Arizona became a 2x NCAA All-American, 4x NCAA Academic All-American, Pac-10 Student Athlete of the Year (2008), and CoSIDA Academic All-District III. Wurm also earned career highs of 9.90 on vault, 9.925 on bars, 9.975 on beam, 9.90 on floor, and 39.50 on All-Around. A full list of her accomplishments can be found below.

"This is such an incredible honor," said Wurm. "The University of Arizona has such phenomenal athletic programs, and I am very honored to be selected into this elite group. I can't speak more highly of my coaches or teammates who stood by my side when I was at Arizona, they helped me achieve the success that I did."

Wurm now lives in Dallas, Texas where she works at a research and consulting firm. In 2015 she married her husband Jason, and in December of 2017 they welcomed a little baby boy together. When they have the time, Karin and Jason enjoy traveling. Read more about Wurm's time since Arizona in her Alumna TBT article here.

"Karin's resume speaks for itself and she is certainly worthy of this great honor," said head coach John Court. "She loved everything about Arizona since she stepped on campus and made the most of her time here. She was a pleasure to coach and I am very excited for her and her family."
