TUCSON, Ariz. – The Wildcats are back in Tucson, Ariz. this Saturday to take on GCU at 1pm MST. The Lopes fell to Arizona 3-0 at the first exhibition match of last season. The first goal came in the seventh minute from
Charlotte Brascia, pressuring the GCU keeper who could not control the ball which allowed Brascia to score. The second goal came in the 59th minute by
Amanda Porter, who was set up by
Hannah Clifford on the six-yard line to put the ball in the net. The final goal came in the 76th minute, when
Cali Crisler brought the ball from the corner of the field and took a shot that beat the keeper.
Arizona faced BYU this past weekend and came out on top with a 3-2 victory. In the first five minutes of the match
Kennedy Kieneker put the first goal in off of an Arizona corner kick. The second goal came in the tenth minute by
Jada Talley and assisted by
Hannah Clifford. After BYU put in two goals at the end of the first half, Kieneker scored a third goal for Arizona to break the tie and solidify the victory three minutes into the second half.
There has been a schedule change for the Cats final spring season game. The 1 pm match against UTEP on Saturday, April 21st in El Paso, Texas has been canceled. Instead, Arizona will face the Del Sol Soccer Club u14 boys team in Casa Grande, Ariz. Tuesday April 17th at 7 pm MST.
