EUGENE, Oregon -- The final match of the road trip ended in a 4-0 defeat for the Arizona Wildcats.
 
The Oregon Ducks edged out the Wildcats for the doubles point. The No. 31 ranked doubles team of Clissold and Laurent kicked things off with a 6-4 victory over Aaro Pollanen and Igor Karpovets. Alejandro Reguant and Jonas Maier responded with a 6-3 win for the Wildcats. The doubles point came down to court 2, where the Stevens/Gentry pairing sealed the point for the Ducks with a 6-4 win over Carlos Hassey and Filip Malbasic.
 
Oregon wasted no time reaching four points in singles. No. 22 ranked Thomas Laurent earned the first singles point with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Karpovets. Ty Gentry quickly followed suit with a 6-4, 6-2 win of his own against Maier. The rest of the matches went unfinished.
 
"We did a better job in doubles today coming out and giving ourselves an opportunity to take that point," said head coach Clancy Shields. "We fought hard in singles and nearly tipped the match in our favor at the end. There are certainly guys on our team who are making big improvements in their games and we will see the results for that soon. Our breakthrough is coming, we have to keep working for it, and when it comes it will be very rewarding and sweet."

The Wildcats return home this weekend to face two top-20 teams in UCLA and USC.
