Palo Alto, Calif. – The University of Arizona track and field program concluded the Pac-12 Championships with the men taking fourth place with a score of 91 points, and the ladies finishing in seventh with 44 points. The men's squad post Arizona's highest finish since 2014, when the Cats took third.
Leading the Cats throughout the two day contest was freshman
Jordan Geist who was named the Pac-12 Championships Male Athlete of the Meet. Geist notched 22 points and a pair of conference titles throughout the championships. On day two, Geist won the discus throw with a mark of 57.56m (188-10) to set a new PR, score 10 points, and become the first freshman to claim both the DT & SP titles. The freshman scored a pair of points in the hammer throw with a mark of 61.60m (202-1), good for a new PR.
Umajesty Williams tallied 12 points on day two of the competition, as well as contributing with a 10-point performance in the 4x400-meter relay. Williams took second in the 400-meter dash, clocking a time of 46.20. The freshman finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.07. The Phoneix, Arizona native was also a member of Arizona's Pac-12 Championship 4x400-meter relay team.

Maksims Sincukovs, and Williams took first place with a time of 3:07.46. The group checks in as Arizona's first Pac-12 4x400-meter relay champions.
Tatum Waggoner clocked a time of 51.89 in the 400-meter dash to score 5 points towards the ladies score. Waggoner's mark is good for a new PR and the No. 2 mark on Arizona's all-time list.
Claire Green took second in the ladies 5K with a mark of 16:29.53.
Collins Kibet took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:50.42.
Justice Summerset and
Bryant O'Georgia combined for 11 points in the high jump. Summerset cleared 2.14m(7-0.25) for a third-place finish and O'Georgia took 4th with a 2.11m (6-11) jump.
Maksims Sincukovs finished third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 51.06.
Turner Washington took fourth in the discus throw with a mark of 54.38m (178-5).
Up next, the Cats will compete in the NCAA West Regional on Thursday, May 24th.
