Tucson, Ariz. – The Wildcats improved to 5-1 on the season after their 6-1 victory over East Tennessee State University. After losing the doubles point, Arizona went on to sweep them in singles play. The Cat's 6-0 run started off when the freshman Jonas Ziverts defeated Frazier Rengifo (ETSUM) 6-1, 6-1 improving his singles record to 4-0 on the season. 
 
This Sunday head coach Clancy Shields will face off against his older brother Luke Shields at the Robson Tennis Center. Coach Clancy has a 3-2 record against Luke. Last season against the bulldogs, six of the Wildcats currently on the roster went 9-3 in singles play leading to two dual match victories for Arizona. 
 
"Really pleased with our singles performances today," said head coach Clancy Shields. "For the most part our guys played complete matches mentally. We definitely showed that we are an elite team today from top to bottom. We have to continue to improve in Doubles, we are still playing timid and not going for it. We will sort this out by Sunday. Hoping we can get a good crowd to help us out on Sunday. Fresno State is a very good team and well coached. We all know how hungry they are to play us and we will be ready for the battle."
