Tucson, Ariz. –– Sophomore Jordan Geist was named the USTFCCCA West Region Field Athlete of the Year on Friday. Geist won the honor following both the indoor and outdoor seasons his freshman year.
 
Geist is ranked second nationally and sixth in the world rankings in the shot put with a mark of 21.15m (69-4.75) set at the Texas Tech Shootout. The sophomore is undefeated in his discipline in the 2019 indoor season, highlighted by an MPSF Conference Championship last weekend in Seattle.
 
Up next, Geist will compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala. on Friday, March 8th at 6:20 p.m. MST
