Q: How did you first get into tennis?
A: "I first got into tennis because my older sister had started playing and my dad had started coaching. I first started off just playing a little bit but I loved going to each session and wanted to start playing competitively. Already when I reached the age of 10 I knew that I wanted to come to the US and play Division I tennis."
Q: Who was your role model growing up?
A: "My role model growing up was Rafael Nadal. I always loved watching him play, the way he composes himself on court and competes during every match. I also love his work ethic and sportsmanship. The effort he puts into every ball and the respect he shows for other players."
Q: Why did you decide to come to Arizona?
A: "Arizona seemed to have such a great team culture, an amazing school atmosphere, as well as a really good challenging tennis schedule."
Q: How are you liking Arizona so far?Â
A: "I am loving Arizona so far; I already feel at home. I have bonded well with the girls and coaches already, the campus is so beautiful, and there is lots to do in Tucson. All the staff within my academic program as well as athletic staff are so friendly and helpful and that has definitely helped make the transition easier."
Q: What is your favorite part about college tennis?
A: "My favorite part about college tennis is playing for a team, it is invaluable. Stepping out onto the court knowing that you are not only fighting for yourself but for your teammates too is so motivating and it is so much fun being out there fighting together."
Q: What will you bring to the team this year?Â
A: "I think I will help bring experience to the team this year as this will be my fourth year of Division I tennis. I hope to be a leader for the team and somebody that my teammates feel like they can trust and rely. I also hope to bring a lot of energy to the team and always try to bring my teammates up if they are having a bad day. I'm excited to fight for these ladies and help the team get some top wins this year. Bear Down!"Â
