TUCSON, Ariz. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recently announced their annual Team Academic Awards and for the fifth straight season, the Arizona Beach Volleyball team was named to the 2019-20 Team Academic Honor Roll.

The honor roll recognizes the 15 collegiate beach volleyball teams with the highest team GPA. To be considered for AVCA Team Academic awards, a team must have a year-long grade point average of 3.30.
 
In beach volleyball, 49 percent of all teams across the country met the criteria to be recognized, but only 15 – including Arizona – were named to the Honor Roll.
 
Across all levels of volleyball supported by the AVCA, a total of 1,315 teams were recognized for the 2019-20 season, topping last year's total by nearly 200 teams.
