TUCSON, Ariz. – Gunner Cruz completed five of his seven pass attempts for 110 yards and a touchdown to lead Team Red to a 17-13 win over Team Blue in the 2021 Spring Game. Team Red was captained by Rob Gronkowski while Team Blue was captained by Tedy Bruschi.



The two biggest plays of the day came from the arm of Cruz, who found a wide open Stacey Marshall off a trick play for a 40-yard touchdown and also completed a 61-yard pass to Jamarye Joiner.

On the defensive end of things for Team Red, Kyon Barrs led the way with five tackles whole Shontrail Key had two sacks on the day. Malik Hausman broke up three passes.
 
For Team Blue, Will Plummer threw for 140 yards and completed an easy pitch and catch touchdown to Bam Smith early on. Smith also carried the ball for 36 yards while Brian Casteel ran for 39 yards on three carries.
