TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona took two doubles wins and three singles wins on day two of the Wildcat Invitational.
In the early morning match, Jay Friend and Eric Padgham defeated Dominik Buzonics and Piotr Galus (NAU) 6-3 marking their advancement to the final round of the Wildcat doubles draw.
Jared Horwood and Dominique Rolland won both of their doubles matches this morning, 6-4 against Ntal Richards and Wyatt Anderson (GCU) and 6-3 against Maciej Ziomber and Alex Groves (NAU), putting them in the finals of the Beardown draw.
In the white draw semifinals, Horwood competed against Georgio Samaha (UNM) to the last second but ultimately fell 7-6(3), 6-3.
Rolland battled the heat and Jan Pucalka (UNM) to three sets before claiming the victory 4-6, 7-5, 6-4. Friend took his singles win in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 against Oliver Andersson (GONZ). Friend will compete in the final round of the blue draw while Rolland competes in the grey draw finals.
Ending the day for the Wildcats was Padgham with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Loic Van Zeggelaar (GCU).
