OJAI, Calif. - Arizona [2] stumbled 3-4 to Utah [3] in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals on Friday, April 28. It was the second heartbreaker the Wildcats faced against the Utes this season. 

In a lengthy contest that ended under the lights, every single match finished. Utah snagged the doubles point early on after a tiebreaker on court one where #53 Trhac/Bugarikj bested #42 Jonas Ziverts and Jay Friend 7-6(3). Before the doubles clinch, Herman Hoeyeraal and Colton Smith won their match 6-4 against Capalbo/Busleiman then Gustaf Strom and Eric Padgham fell 5-7 on court three to Bastias/Caula. 

The 'Cats started off strong in singles with #67 Smith claiming a swift 6-2, 6-1 victory over #98 Capalbo on court one to give Arizona its first point of the day. Then Hoeyeraal followed soon after defeating Caula 6-3 in striaght sets at four sinlges. Arizona's Friend fell 0-6, 4-6 to Trhac at five singles before #113 Strom took his match 6-1, 6-2 against #97 Bastias. Nick Lagaev split sets with Kreen at six singles falling 2-6 in the first then coming back 6-1 in the second before ultimately dropping the match at 5-7 in the third. With the match tied at 3-3, #41 Ziverts pushed to a third set against #43 Busleiman at two singles to keep Arizona alive. The Wildcat lost 4-6 in the first then won an intense tiebreaker 7-6(5) to survive for a third where he unfortunately fell 1-6 to the Ute. 

Men's Tennis awaits the NCAA selection show on May 1 to find out their seed and where they'll be headed for rounds 1 and 2.
