IRVING, Texas – Gianna Christiansen,
Nicole Dallin, and
Aranda Hurge have been named to the All-Big 12 second team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
This is the first time Christiansen, Dallin, and Hurge have garnered all-conference honors.
Christian earned second-team All-Big 12 after a breakout season in which she totaled 20 points, eight goals, and four assists. As a team captain, she finished the regular season with four game-winning goals to lead the conference and her eight goals ranks eighth in the Big 12 and is tied with Dallin for the team lead. Christiansen took 19 total shots, 11 of which were on goal and went 2-for-3 from the penalty spot. She was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week after helping Arizona beat UCF with a brace and a made penalty kick.
Dallin was named to the All-Big 12 second team after starting all 18 of Arizona's matches in the regular season and leading the squad with eight goals, five assists, and 21 points. The graduate captain led Arizona with 47 shots, 25 of which were on target, and had two game-winning goals this season. Her eight goals ranks eighth in the Big 12 and is tied for the team lead with Christiansen. Dallin scored a career best four goals against Pacific and became the first Wildcat since 2014 to record a hat trick. She also is one of three players in program history to score four or more goals in a match. Dallin was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and garnered TopDrawerSoccer Player of the Week honors following her four-goal performance.
Hurge garnered her first all-conference honor after playing all 18 of Arizona's matches and starting in 13 of them. She was a key member of Arizona's dominant back line, limiting opponents to 166 shots and just 79 shots on goal. She played 1,239 total minutes and also totaled five shots during the regular season.
