SEATTLE, Wash. – Arizona Track & Field sent three Wildcats to compete at the Ken Shannon Last Chance Invite in Seattle, Wash., on Friday and Saturday. It was the last opportunity for the team to improve marks before the NCAA Indoor Qualifiers are announced on Tuesday, February 27, as only the top 16 marks in each event qualify for the indoor championships.
Reinaldo Rodrigues had an incredible outing, winning the long jump at the competition with a personal best and meet record leap.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS
Reinaldo Rodrigues stole the show for the Wildcats, jumping a personal best and meet record mark of 25-7.5 (7.81m) in the men's long jump. Rodrigues won the event to claim his second individual first-place finish this season.
In the men's shot put,
Zach Landa placed third overall with a throw of 59-6.25 (18.14m). Landa has placed in the top-three or higher in five of the six shot put competitions he's been involved in during the indoor season.
Hollan Powers had a meet full of personal bests competing in the women's pentathlon. In what was her second multis competition of the season, Powers posted a personal best score of 3942 to place sixth overall. That included a first-place finish in the 60m hurdles with a personal record time of 8.35. She also had a PB leap of 18-9.25 (5.72m) in the long jump to finish third. To end the competition and secure a personal best score, Powers finished runner-up in the 800m.
UP NEXT
The last competition of the indoor season is the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 8-9 in Boston, Mass. The Wildcats will anxiously await weekend results to see if any of their individual competitors fall within the top 16 in an event to qualify for the championship meet.
