TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball freshman
Regan Shockey has been named to the Tucci/NFCA Division I Freshman of the Year Top 25 List, announced on Thursday by the NFCA.
Shockey has earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors four times this season and leads the conference with 68 hits.
The freshman from Chino Hills, Calif. is leading the Wildcats with a .420 batting average and 68 hits. Shockey leads the Pac-12 and ranks sixth in the nation in hits among all players. She leads the conference and ranks fourth among NCAA freshman in batting average. Her 68 hits ranks seventh in Arizona freshman history.
The Arizona freshman is the only Pac-12 freshman on the list. Shockey joins a list of seven Arizona freshman in history to be named to the list including teammate
Olivia DiNardo who earned a spot on the list last season.
Shockey and the Wildcats travel to UCLA on Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m. MST for Arizona's final Pac-12 series of the season before returning home to host GCU on Tuesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. MST to close out the regular season. The second Pac-12 Softball Tournament will be held at Stanford on May 8-11.
