Tucson, Ariz. - Arizona hosted their first Red-Blue Intrasquad after competing in their first season last year. The Cats split their home event into two races with a short triathlon and a mixed-team relay. Each race had all the components of a triathlon with shorter distances.

Both races began in the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center with the swim portion. The Wildcats then transitioned to the cycling segment, followed by the running aspect to finish off the race.

The first race of the morning mirrored a normal triathlon with shorter distances in each portion of the race.

The top three finishers of the first race were:

1. Kelly Wetteland
2. Lydia Russell
3. Molly Lakustiak

The second race had the team split into two groups. This mixed-team relay had each individual complete their own race - swim, bike, run - and then tag in a teammate. This race ended with the athletes from three United States finishing just ahead of the international athletes.

The Cats are back in action on Sunday, Sept. 29 in Fort Worth, Texas. They will be competing in the Battle of the Fort Triathlon.
