TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona women's basketball head coach Becky Burke announced the signing of Priyanka Ponnam, a 6-foot-2 forward from Pennington, New Jersey, and Blair Academy (N.J.), as part of the Wildcats' 2026 recruiting class.
A versatile, all-around talent, Ponnam is a 1,000-point scorer and 500-plus rebounder who averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per game during her junior season, including a career-high 35 points and 10 rebounds in one outing. A two-time She Got Game MVP (2023-24, 2024-25), she brings rare size and skill to the Arizona perimeter.
"I chose Arizona because of the amazing coaches, program, culture, and community," Ponnam said. "The moment I stepped on campus I saw the vision and felt supported. I know I can become my best self on and off the court and can't wait to be part of the Wildcat legacy!"
Off the court, Ponnam has earned Dean's Honors List recognition in consecutive years, serves as a Student Panelist (2023–26), and is a three-time HFF Scholarship recipient for leadership and academic achievement.
"Pri is a versatile stretch four that can be physical with her back to the basket and finish under the rim and can also stretch the floor and knock down the three at a high percentage. I'm excited to be able to use Pri in a number of different ways both offensively and defensively," said Burke.
"Pri will add a tremendous amount of value on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. Welcome Pri!"
