Arizona's Women's Tennis Set for Virginia Regional

Charlottesville, VA.- Arizona will face Illinois in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, May 2, at 7:00 am MST at the Virginia Tennis Facility in Charlottesville.

The Wildcats (19-10), ranked No. 30 nationally, are making back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time since 2011-12, capping off a strong season that saw them reach the Big 12 Championship quarterfinals. In their most recent match, Arizona fell 4-3 to No. 21 seed Baylor in a gritty battle Friday afternoon at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.

Arizona and Illinois last met in March 2023, when the Wildcats earned a 4-0 sweep at home. Illinois enters Thursday's match with a 14-12 overall record and a 9-5 mark in Big Ten play. The winner of Friday's match will face either No. 7 overall seed Virginia or Fairleigh Dickinson in the second round. First and second round matches will be held May 2–4, with regional champions advancing to the NCAA Super Regionals.
